What do I love most about being a wedding photographer? Unequivocally, it’s having the opportunity to meet and work with the most amazing people and help them share their love story. I wouldn’t trade that experience for anything in the world!
I met Kendra and Garrett by chance last summer when I photographed their family at Garrett’s grandmother’s home. They were newly engaged at the time and I couldn’t resist the opportunity to take a few photos of them with their adorable little pup Lola.
Shortly after our first meeting, they reached out to book their wedding with me <3. We met up for their engagement shoot last fall at the Wentworth-Coolidge Mansion in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and I had the opportunity to get to know them a little more. Such a vibrant and sweet couple! I couldn’t wait for their wedding day <3
The evening before their wedding, Kendra and Garrett arranged to have me photograph their rehearsal dinner at Chef Joe’s in Franconia, New Hampshire. They planned a beautiful gathering and honored their dear family and friends with beautiful, emotional and heartfelt speeches and they were surprised with an extra special photo slideshow! I admit, I had to put my camera down once in awhile to wipe my own tears. These are the moments that make me so grateful to do this job.
The next morning I traveled to their GORGEOUS wedding venue, The Toad Hill Farm in Franconia, New Hampshire. Talk about a dream come true! Beautiful fields, sweeping hills and a breath taking view of the mountains couldn’t have provided a better setting for Kendra and Garrett’s wedding day! Garrett and his groomsmen spent the morning enjoying some extra special grooming and pampering. Kendra enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing morning at the farm with her bridesmaids taking in the views.
Kendra and Garrett planned a first-look for their wedding day prior to the ceremony and it was such a sweet and special opportunity for them to spend a bit of time together really focused on their love for one another. After their first look, they were joined by their family and wedding party for some fun portraits!
Kendra and Garrett were joined at the top of the hill by all of their guests to share their vows in a beautiful ceremony officiated by their dear friend Meg Hirshberg. Though the views were stunning, they still paled in comparison to this beautiful couple!
After the ceremony, Kendra and Garrett stole away for a few private moments while their guests started the celebration at cocktail hour – enjoying lawn games, delicous food and drinks and the gorgeous September foliage.
Before dinner, Kendra and Garrett shared their first dance as husband and wife and Garrett’s brother and Kendra’s sister both shared fabulous and entertaining speeches, which provoked tons of laughter and even a few tears. Once dinner was served by Chef Joe’s Catering and the pies enjoyed, Kendra and Garrett each shared a dance with their mothers and then, DJ Greg Young opened the dance floor and got the party started!
